Port Macquarie Artwalk 2020

Artwalk Port Macquarie 1-8th Oct 2020 is a cultural event supporting local artists and businesses that have been held, successfully, over the past four years. It is an art-based, cultural event that exposes the attendees to artistic local talent, interactive displays, musical performances and local businesses for a week. The theme this year is "The Longest Footpath Art Gallery" and designers were asked to submit proposals for suites of posters and footpath stickers to help promote the event.

Design objective of the green suite is to promote the event and identify local businesses that are a Longest Footpath Gallery site. A green A3 poster and footpath sticker are to be displayed in close proximity to all participating venues.

In addition to material reminding people of social distancing and promoting the event, this suite will encourage attendees to explore. Businesses in partnership with their displayed artist will be asked to donate a prize into a lucky draw in return for inclusion in a specific promotion designed to increase visitors to their location. This will contribute to the “edgy, surprise and exciting elements” desired by the organisers. To enter people must take a selfie standing in front of the display, scan the code on the red poster of footpath sticker and send in the selfie and their details for the competition.

Design objective of this footpath sticker is to remind attendees of safe COVID-19 practices. They will be placed randomly along the designated walking area.
